First Term Accomplishments
- Fiscal prudence working through 10 City and Regional Budget Cycles
- Assisted in the creation and management of Interim Control Bylaw in an effort to control growth and density Downtown while working through a New Official Land Use Plan
- Two terms as Chair of the Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility Standing Committee
- Coordinated Ward 4 Traffic Management Studies
- Championed Free Transit for Seniors
- Established a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
- Established Mid-Rise Building Guidelines, Tall Building Guidelines and Urban Design and Streetscape Guidelines
- Utilized the Provincial Audit and Accountability Fund to search for efficiencies within our Winter Snow Clearing and Leaf Pickup Programs and to study ways to Green City Fleet Vehicles and improve our Community Planning Application Process
- Championed a City Wide Private Tree Bylaw to ensure preservation and enhancement of our tree canopy and green infrustructure
- Supported the implementation of our Climate Action Plan and Climate Resilience Plan as well as advocated for our Biodiversity Plan
- Advocated for a Ward 4 Parking Study as well as advocating for the implementation of a Speed Radar Enforcement Program
- Updated our Emergency and Continuity Management Program and supported the creation of our Vision to Focus (V2F) 4-Year Council Strategic Plan
- Supported Burlington Transit’s 5-year Business Plan and updated the City’s Corporate Energy and Emissions Management Plan
- Introduced a new Construction and Mobility Management Motion to ensure that structure and control is brought to Single Family Residential Infill Development
- Approved a new City of Burlington Corporate Structure and advocate for improved Citizen Engagement and culture within City Hall
- Participated in policy development with the Halton Older Adult Advisory Committee
- Acted as Vice President of the Halton Community Housing Corporation
- Championed a new Working Group Model for more effective Citizen Engagement
- Assisted in the development of the Burlington Economic Development Strategic Plan
- Acted as the Council Representative on the Burlington Senior Advisory Committee
- Acted as Chair of the Affordable Housing Strategy Working Group
- Championed the installation if a Hearing Loop System at the Burlington Senior Centre
- Promoted Storm Water Drainage Upgrades to Tuck/Roseland and Shoreacres Creeks to prevent future flooding of Ward 4 neighbourhoods
- Championed a new Closed Meeting Protocol to enhance transparency and accountability at City Hall
